| On the 12th November 2006, She was diagnosed with stage 4 Neurobastoma This is where our lives changed forever!
She is currently undergoing round 6 of 8 rounds of chemotherapy, called “rapid COJEC”. This protocol is phase 3, it is proposed in treatment of high risk neuroblastoma. It lasts 10 weeks. Each course requires 2-3 days of hospitalisation, courses repeat every 10 days regardless of blood count. Very quickly after completion of the 8th course of chemotherapy Emma will undergo a stem cell harvest.
At the moment the cancer is out of her bone marrow and her tumour has shrunk from: 15x11cm to 5x4cm! It's amazing but the truth about Neuroblastoma is that it comes back and comes back really angry! That's what is so scary about this cancer.
